We are in Terra Alta, a rural area with many interesting villages offering various activities and history.

The landscapes surrounding the campsite and nearby villages are marked by the cultivation of olive trees, vineyards, and almond trees.

Terra Alta, with 13.75 inhabitants per km2, has one of the lowest population densities in all of Catalonia.

Villages near the campsite

Terra Alta, located in the southwest of Catalonia, comprises a total of nine towns with a rich cultural heritage. If you decide to visit them, you’ll encounter charming small towns, modernist buildings, and many sites related to the Battle of the Ebro.

In addition to Terra Alta, you can visit the town of Fayón and its historical sites, and of course, Mequinenza with its impressive landscapes and monumental castle.

    The nearest village to the campsite, with only 341 inhabitants. You can visit the porches next to the town hall square, the church, the hermitage of Santa Madrona, or take a landscape photo at the viewpoint.

    Just 4km from the campsite, a village completely rebuilt in 1967 as it was flooded by the construction of the Ribaroja dam. In Fayón you will find the Battle of the Ebro Museum and the living history paths among many other things.

    Surrounded by vineyards, it concentrates the largest volume of wineries in Terra Alta. In Batea, you will find a medieval historic center with porches and constructions from that era. It preserves gates from the ancient wall, such as the Angel’s Gate and Saint Roch’s Gate.

    Capital of Terra Alta, it combines tradition, historical-artistic heritage, and economic development in a rugged environment with the Pàndols and Cavalls mountain ranges. Its old town, with arcades in the Church square and the Romanesque church of the Assumption, preserves historical vestiges despite the damage suffered during the Carlist Wars. Also noteworthy are the modernist Cooperative Winery by César Martinell and the Study Center of the Battle of the Ebro, as well as the Archaeological Complex of Coll del Moro in its surroundings.
